Frequently Asked Questions - Whack Force

  1. What is a CAB file?
You could install a product in one of two ways:

    1. Download to your desktop: Download the install program (an .exe file) to your desktop PC running Windows 95 or higher, or NT. The desktop install will run the setup program on your desktop machine and will automatically detect which kind of processor your mobile device uses. It will then copy and install the correct files on your mobile device, which is connected to your desktop PC.

    2. Download directly to mobile device: Download the install file (CAB File) directly to your mobile device running Windows CE 2.0 only, and double tap the CAB file to install the product.

Please note that the Download directly to mobile device option would not work for Windows CE 1.0 devices. You specifically have to download the CAB file to your Windows CE 2.0 mobile device and double tap it from there to install the product successfully.

  2. Do I need to uninstall the evaluation version prior to installing the final version?
    OR
Can I preserve my database and custom settings and install the final version over the evaluation version?

You wouldn't need to uninstall the evaluation version prior to installing the final version. The install program would overwrite the respective files and configure itself to work on your mobile device, your custom user settings would be retained and you would not need to enter them again.
