Creating Database

We need to create a new database, so we need to select New from Menu Database. A save dialog box appear to enter the name of our database. Please enter 'Business' as the name of database and press OK button. After saving dialog box close a new database saved with success appear press the OK button to continue.
  1. Start HandyDB .NET on your PocketPC by Tap HandyDB icon.
  2. On the HandyDB main screen select Menu > Database > New option.
  3. A new dialog database appears to enter the database name. Please enter 'Business' on the name field and tap OK button to create your new 'My Contacts' database.
  4. If database is created an information message appear on the screen where tell you that database 'Business' is created with success. Tap OK button.
At this point we now see that we are at the Tables Module of course if we recent created this database we cannot see any Table at the moment we need to create a Table to hold all our important information.

Creating Table

Now we need to create a new 'Providers' table. Therefore, we need to tap on New Table icon on the icon bar or select New Table from the Menu Bar. A New Table Designer form open to start design our table.
  1. Tap New Table icon and enter 'Providers' on Table Name field.
  2. Enter 'Id' on Field Name
  3. Select 'Text' from Data Type Combobox
  4. Enter 10 on field length
  5. Select Index Checkbox button
  6. Tap Add Field button
Note that when you tap on Add Field button the Field information is added to the field list. Repeat the above step to add the follow list of fields:

1. FieldName: Date
2. Type: Date/Time

1. FieldName: Name
2. Type: Text
3. Length: 32
4. Indexed: ASC

1. FieldName: Last Name
2. Type: Text
3. Length: 32
4. Indexed: ASC

1. FieldName: Group
2. Type: Text
3. Length: 20

1. FieldName: Share
2. Type: Yes/No

1. FieldName: Comments
2. Type: Memo

After you entering all fields' information and checking the List of fields to ensure have entered all data information we need to save our table. Tap save icon button and new table saved with success dialog information appear.

Tap Close Module to Exit from New Table Module and go to HandyDB .NET Tables module

Creating a Customized Form

Now if you follow the Tutorial you can now see on the Tables List View your recent created Table 'Providers'. If you wish you could tap the Edit toolbar icon to start enter records on your table.

Tap the Edit toolbar icon to look to the form.

As you can see the Edit Form is simple and tedious to use if you want to enter data in it. For exampling adding the date to each new record.

Tap the close module located on the upper right of Edit module to back to the Tables module again.

One on the most powerful feature of HandyDB .NET is that you can customize the Data Entry form to fit your requirements. You can customize your form to have Date/Time picker control, ComboBox & CheckBox Buttons.

Select Providers Table from Table list and Tap Custom toolbar icon.

You are now on the quick customize form. Here you can change the way of your data entry form look. You can change the color of the entire forms and assign the kind of control that each one of the table field utilize to make your life easy and affordable to enter data on your table.

Let's go to create a custom data entry form:

This take you to the Form settings where you can customize your data entry form.
  1. Select Id Field from Field Name Combobox
  2. Select EditBox from Control Combobox
  3. Tap Label BackColor if you wish to change it
  4. Tap small arrow located on the footer of Form settings
  5. Tap Text BackColor if you wish to change it
  6. Tap Save icon to set your changes
