Frequently Asked Questions - PocketShop for Pocket PC
- "Should I back up my shopping list data?"
Yes, we do recommend you backup your shopping list data from time to time. It is stored on the Pocket PC in the file \WINDOWS\shoplistdata.cdb; and if you sync, it is also stored in the database "slist40.mdb" on your PC. You can transfer the Pocket PC database to your PC (via Microsoft ActiveSync / export database), then, if you ever need to restore it, simply use Microsoft ActiveSync to "Import Database..." and import that database to your \windows\shoplistdata.cdb file.
- "I have a network at home and would like to share my shopping list. Does PocketShop support this?"
Yes! PocketShop does allow for a shopping list to be shared across the network, all sharing the same shopping list. See the user guide.
- "How do I get and send data from my PDA to my PC?"
First, you set up a synchronized relationship between them, using the "Tools/Option" option on the PC Companion. You only need to do this once. Then, you simply need to run ActiveSync! (Make sure you're running ActiveSync 3.5 or higher)
