System requirements

1. Desktop Part
  • MS Windows 98/NT4/2000/XP;
  • TCP/IP connection;
  • ActiveSync 3.x installed.
2. PocketPC Part
  • Windows CE 3.0/PocketPC/PocketPC 2002;
  • Arm/SH3/MIPS processor.
3. Other requirements

Clean systems. I.e., if you have previous version of Mobile View installed, uninstall it first carefully from both Desktop and PocketPC parts. It is recommended to softreset PocketPC device after uninstallation.

Installation
  1. Run mobileview.exe. Installation wizard appears;
  2. Read the information on first page and press 'Next';
  3. Choose installation directory and press 'Next';
  4. Select packages you want to install, where:
    • HPC Client -- PocketPC client. Allows intercommunicate with PocketPC device.
    • Support Center Server -- Main Server. Holds all users and requests information.
    • Administrative Client -- Administrator's PC client. Allows administrator to intercommunicate with Server and PocketPC devices (if HPC Client installed). and press 'Next';
  5. If you selected installation of Administrative Client, enter Administrator console ID (which will identify your Administrative Client copy for Support Center Server) and press 'Next';
  6. Press 'Finish' to finish installation.
Important Notes

Both users and administrators logins/passwords for the system are listed in "scs_passwd.xml" file, which can be found in Mobile View installation directory (e.g., "C:\Program Files\Aurorisoft\Mobile View").

User Management
  1. Any changes of user information will be apllied after Support Center restarting.
  2. To add new user, open "scs_passwd.xml" in any text editor (e.g., Notepad), copy any existing user entry (from to ), insert it inside scs-config entry (between and ), and edit this copy to meet your needs. If you need to add administrator, set "role" value to "admin", else set it to "user". Please ensure that "id" value of added user is unique in the config file.
